Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These terms form a contract between you and Sorted Name. By using the service, you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the service.

2. What Sorted Name does

We provide a guided checklist with phone numbers, portal links and template emails to help you update your name with banks, insurers, government bodies and other providers. We are an independent service — we are not affiliated with HMRC, DVLA, HM Passport Office, or any bank, insurer or provider listed.

3. No legal or financial advice

The information in Sorted Name is for general guidance only. It does not constitute legal, financial or tax advice. Always check each provider's official site for their current requirements.

4. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials safe and for everything that happens under your account. You must be 18 or over to use the service.

5. Payment, refunds and cancellation

Some features require a one-off payment. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day right to cancel from purchase. By starting to use the paid features immediately, you agree this right is waived once the digital service has been delivered. We may still offer goodwill refunds at our discretion — email hello@sortedname.app.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service to impersonate someone else
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or resell the service
• Use it for unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purposes

7. Intellectual property

All Sorted Name content (text, design, code, templates) is owned by us or our licensors. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use it for changing your own name. Provider names and logos belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything that cannot be excluded under UK law. Subject to that, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss.

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or if we stop offering the service, in which case we'll give reasonable notice and a pro-rata refund where appropriate.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
